Ingredients:
Bread - 10 slices
Milk - 1/2 litre
Sugar - 1/2 cup (or adjust according to taste)
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Cashews - 10
Dry grapes - 7-8
Raisins - 10
Cardamom - 2-3
Procedure:
- Take a pan, add ghee and heat it. Add chopped cashews, dry grapes, raisins one by one and roast them until they change color.
- In the same pan, roast the bread slices until they turn to golden brown and break them in to pieces.
- In other vessel, add milk and heat it.
- When milk is boiling, add bread pieces and cook them until they are completely incorporated in to milk.
- Add sugar and stir well.
- Finally add crushed cardamom, roasted cashews, almonds, raisins and mix well. Serve hot or cold.
TIP: Bread halwa can be prepared even without adding milk, it looks colorful and the flavor of this dessert will be different and yummy too.
